TVS Motor Reports Best-Ever Quarterly Sales - June Up 20% YoY
TVS reports 20% YoY sales jump in June 2025. Q1 FY26 hits all-time high, driven by rising exports and strong domestic demand.
TVS Motor Company has reported its highest-ever quarterly sales performance, marking a significant achievement within the automotive sector. The company, a prominent manufacturer of two-wheelers and three-wheelers, has demonstrated substantial growth and an expanding market presence both domestically and internationally. This notable increase in sales highlights TVS Motor's strategic strength and its effective navigation of evolving market conditions.
Quarterly Performance Overview
For the first quarter of the fiscal year 2025-26 (Q1 FY26), spanning April to June, TVS Motor Company recorded a total sales volume of 12.77 lakh units. This figure represents a 17 percent increase compared to the 10.87 lakh units sold in the corresponding quarter of the previous fiscal year, Q1 FY25. This growth indicates a consistent upward trend for the company.
Two-wheeler sales were a primary contributor, reaching 12.32 lakh units. The three-wheeler segment also showed considerable progress, with 0.45 lakh units sold, marking a 46 percent increase from the same period last year. These statistics underscore strong demand across TVS Motor's product range.
June Sales Performance
June 2025 significantly contributed to the quarter's record-breaking results. TVS Motor reported total sales of 402,001 units in June, a 20 percent year-on-year increase from the 333,646 units sold in June 2024. This monthly performance reflects an accelerating momentum for the company.
Motorcycle sales increased by 24 percent, with volumes rising from 152,701 units in June 2024 to 188,774 units in June 2025. Scooter sales demonstrated an even stronger performance, posting a 26 percent increase, reaching 162,291 units compared to 128,986 units in June 2024. Domestic two-wheeler sales specifically totaled 281,012 units in June 2025, representing a 10 percent growth over the 255,734 units sold a year prior.
Electric Vehicle Segment and International Recovery
While overall sales figures indicate success, the electric two-wheeler segment experienced a minor decline. EV sales decreased to 14,400 units in June 2025 from 15,859 units in June 2024. The company attributes this reduction to ongoing disruptions within the EV supply chain, specifically concerning magnet availability. Despite this temporary challenge, retail demand for the TVS iQube, a prominent electric scooter, remains robust.
Internationally, TVS Motor Company has shown strong recovery. Exports in June 2025 surged by 54 percent, reaching 117,145 units, an increase from 76,074 units in June 2024. Two-wheeler exports, in particular, climbed by 58 percent to 104,686 units. Over the entire quarter, export volumes totaled 3.52 lakh units, a 39 percent rise from the 2.54 lakh units shipped in Q1 FY25. The three-wheeler segment also contributed to this international growth, recording 16,303 units in June 2025, a 42 percent increase compared to 11,478 units in the same month last year. TVS is expanding its global market presence.
Future Outlook
TVS Motor Company plans to continue its growth trajectory through the introduction of new products. A 150 cc iteration of the Ntorq sporty scooter is among the anticipated releases. With consistent domestic sales growth and strong international performance, the company’s electric vehicle segment, despite current supply chain constraints, demonstrates significant potential for future expansion. TVS has consistently adapted to market dynamics and is expected to remain a key participant in the evolving automotive industry.
