Bajaj Auto Records Nearly 3 Lakh Unit Sales in June 2025
Bajaj Auto's June 2025 sales rise on strong exports, offsetting a 13% domestic dip. Commercial vehicles show 49% export growth
Bajaj Auto, a major Indian vehicle maker, has shared its sales numbers for June 2025. The company saw a slight overall increase in sales, largely thanks to strong performance in its export markets. While sales within India faced a bit of a challenge, the global demand for Bajaj vehicles helped balance the figures.
Two-Wheeler Performance: Exports Up, Domestic Down
In the two-wheeler segment, Bajaj Auto experienced a notable shift. Domestic sales for two-wheelers dropped by 16 percent, moving from 1,77,207 units in June 2024 to 1,49,317 units last month. However, this was offset by a positive trend in exports. Two-wheeler export volumes climbed by 18 percent, reaching 1,49,167 units from 1,26,439 units a year earlier. When combining both domestic and export figures, the total two-wheeler sales for June 2025 stood at 2,98,484 units, showing a small 2 percent dip compared to the previous year.
Commercial Vehicles: A Mixed Bag
The commercial vehicle segment presented a varied picture. Domestic sales remained largely flat, with a minor decrease of just 101 units year-on-year, settling at 39,143 units. In contrast, commercial vehicle exports saw a significant jump of 49 percent, rising from 15,587 units in June 2024 to 23,179 units in June 2025. This strong export performance pushed the total commercial vehicle sales for the month to 62,322 units, marking a 14 percent improvement overall.
Overall Sales Picture: Exports Lead the Way
Looking at the combined figures for both segments, Bajaj Auto’s total domestic sales for June 2025 were 1,88,460 units, a 13 percent decrease from 2,16,451 units last year. However, total exports saw a healthy 21 percent increase, reaching 1,72,346 units, up from 1,42,026 units. For the first quarter of the current financial year (Q1 FY26), Bajaj’s combined sales across two-wheelers and commercial vehicles reached 11,11,237 units, a modest 1 percent rise over the 11,02,056 units recorded in Q1 FY25.
In the two-wheeler category for Q1 FY26, domestic volumes were 5,29,344 units, a 9 percent drop from the previous year. Exports in this category, however, rose by 14 percent to 4,19,447 units. This resulted in a nearly flat quarterly total of 9,48,791 two-wheelers sold. Commercial vehicles, on the other hand, showed a 7 percent increase in quarterly sales, totaling 1,62,446 units. While domestic commercial vehicle sales saw a slight dip, exports surged by 32 percent. Overall, for Q1 FY26, Bajaj’s domestic sales across both segments fell by 8 percent to 6,34,808 units, while exports grew by 16 percent to 4,76,429 units.
Deep Analysis
Bajaj Auto’s June 2025 sales figures highlight a clear strategy: leveraging international markets to offset domestic fluctuations. The significant growth in exports, particularly for commercial vehicles, demonstrates the company’s strong global presence and demand for its products abroad. While the domestic two-wheeler market experienced a downturn, possibly due to various economic factors or increased competition, the robust export performance has been crucial in maintaining overall sales stability. This reliance on exports suggests a well-diversified business model. For sustained growth, Bajaj Auto will need to address domestic market challenges while continuing to capitalize on its international strengths, ensuring a balanced and resilient sales trajectory in the coming months.
