Samsung Galaxy M47 5G Launching in India on June 29: Display, Cameras and Software Support Revealed

Samsung has officially announced that the Galaxy M47 5G will make its India debut on June 29. Ahead of the launch, the company has started teasing the smartphone through an Amazon microsite, giving a closer look at several key features.

The upcoming device marks the return of Samsung's M4x series in India. Although the Galaxy M44 was introduced in a few international markets nearly three years ago, it never reached Indian buyers. The Galaxy M47 5G is now set to fill that gap with a number of upgrades aimed at the mid-range smartphone segment.

Snapdragon Chipset With Faster Memory

Samsung has confirmed that the Galaxy M47 5G will run on a Snapdragon processor. While the company has not disclosed the exact chipset yet, it has revealed that the phone will use LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 3.1 storage.

The smartphone is being positioned as a device capable of handling gaming, multitasking and everyday performance efficiently. Samsung has also included support for 45W fast charging. Another notable feature is bypass charging, which can supply power directly to the device during gaming sessions instead of repeatedly charging the battery. This helps reduce heat generation while playing games. The battery capacity, however, remains undisclosed.

Long Software Support Promised

One of the major highlights of the Galaxy M47 5G is Samsung's software update policy. The company has promised six generations of Android OS upgrades along with six years of security updates.

This level of software support is currently better than what many smartphones in the mid-range category offer and could appeal to users planning to keep their device for several years.

6.7-Inch AMOLED Display With 120Hz Refresh Rate

The Galaxy M47 5G features a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. Protection is provided by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus+.

According to Samsung, the display is designed to remain easily visible outdoors while also delivering a smooth experience during scrolling, gaming and everyday use.

Triple Rear Cameras and 4K Video Recording

For photography, Samsung has equipped the Galaxy M47 5G with a triple-camera setup at the rear. It includes a 50MP primary sensor with Optical Image Stabilisation (OIS), a 5MP ultra-wide camera and a 2MP macro lens.

On the front, the smartphone gets a 12MP selfie camera for photos and video calls. Samsung has also confirmed support for 4K video recording from both the front and rear cameras.

Colour Options

The Galaxy M47 5G will be offered in two colour choices:
  • Rogue Red
  • Blaze Blue

Samsung Strengthens Its Mid-Range Portfolio

The launch comes at a time when competition in the mid-range smartphone market is becoming increasingly intense. Brands such as Redmi, Realme, iQOO and POCO continue to attract buyers with feature-packed devices at aggressive prices.

Traditionally, Samsung's M-series has been known for reliability and battery-focused offerings. With the Galaxy M47 5G, the company appears to be expanding its focus by adding premium display protection, extended software support and gaming-oriented features.

Samsung is also expected to introduce the Galaxy F70 Pro in the near future, indicating a stronger push in this segment.

Price Yet to Be Announced

Samsung has not revealed the pricing of the Galaxy M47 5G so far. The official price announcement will be made at the launch event on June 29. Pricing will be an important factor, especially given the strong competition in the mid-range category.

Buyers considering a new smartphone in this segment may want to wait a few more days to see how Samsung positions the Galaxy M47 5G in the market.
