Triumph Trident 660 Special Edition gets a bold new look and honors Triumph's Isle of Man TT victories. Expected price: Rs 8.50 lakh.

Triumph Motorcycles is preparing to launch a special version of its Trident 660 model in India. The company has officially announced this on its social media channels in India. This new Trident 660 Special Edition honors Triumph’s five wins at the Isle of Man TT race. The motorcycle will feature a unique three-color paint scheme. This design includes a white base color with metallic blue stripes and red accents.

Standard Features and Accessories

Beyond its special paint scheme, this motorcycle will come with several accessories as standard. These include a shift assist system, a flyscreen, and a belly pan. These items are usually optional on the regular Trident 660 model. The Trident 660’s feature list also includes dual-channel ABS (Anti-lock Braking System), a color TFT (Thin-Film Transistor) display, traction control, and two riding modes: Rain and Road.

Engine, Performance, and Design

The motorcycle is powered by a 660cc, inline-triple engine. This engine produces 80 brake horsepower and 64 Newton-meters of torque. It is paired with a six-speed gearbox.

In terms of its bodywork, the design of this special edition bike is similar to other Trident 660 variants. It uses a tubular steel frame. The front suspension consists of a 41mm Showa USD (Upside Down) fork, while the rear has a preload-adjustable Showa monoshock. For braking, the bike is equipped with twin 310mm discs at the front and a 255mm disc at the back.

Expected Price

Considering the unique aspects of this motorcycle, its price point in showrooms is anticipated to be approximately Rs 8.50 lakh.

Analysis

The upcoming Triumph Trident 660 Special Edition highlights Triumph’s strategy to blend performance with heritage. By commemorating its Isle of Man TT victories, the brand aims to connect with enthusiasts who value racing history. Including previously optional accessories as standard adds value, potentially making the special edition more appealing to buyers looking for a complete package. This move could also help Triumph maintain its competitive edge in the middleweight motorcycle segment, offering a distinct option for riders seeking a balance of power, features, and exclusive styling. The pricing will be key to its market reception, as it positions itself against other premium offerings.
