Skoda India Records Highest-Ever H1 Sales with 36,194 Units in 2025

Skoda Auto India achieves record half-yearly sales in H1 2025 with 36,194 units sold, marking a 134% YOY surge

Skoda Auto India has marked an impressive first half of 2025, recording its highest-ever wholesale sales figures between January and June. The company moved 36,194 units during this period, showcasing a substantial 134 percent year-on-year increase compared to the first half of 2024. This achievement not only signifies remarkable growth but also surpasses Skoda’s previous best performance of 28,899 units in the same period back in 2022. Recent product launches have played a key role in this success.

This mid-year accomplishment has propelled Skoda up the ranks in the Indian automotive industry. For the first time in its 25 years of operations in India, Skoda has climbed four spots, securing a position among the country’s top seven car brands by volume. This milestone coincides with Skoda’s global celebration of 130 years in 2025, adding further significance to its local achievements.

The expansion of Skoda’s product lineup has been a crucial factor in these strong results. The Kylaq, Skoda’s first compact SUV measuring under four meters, has been particularly instrumental. Launched in November 2024, the Kylaq opened new avenues by attracting entry-level customers and helping the brand penetrate deeper into Tier 2 and Tier 3 markets. Built on the highly localized MQB A0 IN platform, the Kylaq is powered by a 1.0-liter turbo petrol engine, offering a compelling package for its segment.

The positive momentum continued with the introduction of the second-generation Kodiaq premium SUV in April. The new Kodiaq is available in two variants, Sportline and L&K, with an ex-showroom starting price of Rs. 46.89 lakh. It features a 2.0-liter turbo petrol engine paired with a seven-speed DCT, delivering a maximum power output of 201 horsepower and 320 Nm of peak torque, catering to the premium SUV segment.

The Slavia sedan remains a consistent performer and a significant contributor to Skoda’s sales. Furthermore, a globally recognized nameplate, widely expected to be the Octavia RS, is anticipated to join the lineup soon, further strengthening Skoda’s portfolio in India.

On the retail front, Skoda has significantly expanded its network. The number of customer touchpoints nationwide has grown from just 120 outlets in 2021 to more than 295. The company aims to further extend this network, with plans to cross 350 touchpoints by the end of the current calendar year, enhancing accessibility for customers across India.

Skoda is also enhancing its customer ownership experience. The brand now offers a complimentary one-year maintenance package with all new purchases. The first scheduled service is due only after 30,000 kilometers or two years, whichever comes first, providing long-term peace of mind for owners. Buyers also have the option to choose from various extended warranty and service plans. In addition to these models, Skoda continues to sell the Kushaq midsize SUV in India, and the company is considering hybrid technology for its future models, indicating a forward-looking approach to sustainable mobility.
