Suzuki Fronx Gains Level 2 ADAS in Indonesia - India Launch Anticipated
Suzuki launches the Fronx in Indonesia with Level 2 ADAS, aiming to sell 24,000 units yearly and boost exports across Southeast Asia
Suzuki has just launched its Fronx small SUV in Indonesia with some really smart safety features. These are called Level 2 ADAS, which stands for Advanced Driver-Assistance Systems. This means the factory in Indonesia is now the second place in the world to build the Fronx, after India. Suzuki hopes to sell about 24,000 of these cars each year in Indonesia. Some of these cars will also go to other countries in Southeast Asia.
Where the Fronx Sits in the World Car Market
Maruti Suzuki first brought the Fronx out in India in April 2023. Since then, it has quickly gone to over 70 countries, including places in Africa, Latin America, and Japan. Now, Indonesia is also getting the Fronx. In Indonesia, the Suzuki Fronx goes up against cars like the Honda WR-V, Nissan Magnite, and Daihatsu Rocky. Its price there is between 259 million and 321.9 million rupiah. That works out to about Rs. 13.65 lakh to 16.97 lakh in Indian money.
Size and Engine Choices
The Fronx sold in Indonesia is the same size as the one in India. It is 3,995 mm long, 1,765 mm wide, and 1,550 mm tall. Suzuki gives buyers two engine options. One is a regular 1.5-liter petrol engine. The other is a mild-hybrid version of the same engine. For changing gears, you can pick a five-speed manual, a four-speed automatic, or a six-speed automatic. The mild-hybrid engine makes 101 horsepower and 135 Nm of pulling power. The regular petrol engine is a little stronger, making 4 more horsepower and 3 more Nm of pulling power.
It is interesting to know that in its home country, Japan, Suzuki also sells a Fronx with a six-speed automatic gearbox and all-wheel drive.
Smart Safety and Handy Features
Many things inside the Indonesian Fronx are like the Indian one. But the big new thing is the Level 2 ADAS safety package. This smart system includes Adaptive Cruise Control, which helps keep a set distance from the car in front. It also has Lane Keep Assist and Lane Departure Warning, which help the car stay in its lane. Other safety helpers include warnings for when the car sways too much and for blind spots. The car also has a 360-degree camera, a system that helps with braking, and a display that shows important info on the windshield. Plus, there are rear parking sensors, hill hold control, and electronic stability control.
For comfort and easy use, the Fronx has a nine-inch touchscreen for entertainment, automatic air conditioning, and regular cruise control. It also has a sound system with six speakers, paddle shifters for changing gears, 16-inch alloy wheels, and LED lights at the front and back. The seats are covered in fake leather, and you can charge your phone without wires.
What This Means for India
When Suzuki puts Level 2 ADAS in the Fronx for Indonesia, it tells us something important. It suggests that Maruti Suzuki will probably bring these advanced safety features to India soon. Cars in India, especially small SUVs, are getting more competitive. So, having ADAS is becoming very important. People who buy cars are now looking more at safety tech. ADAS can make a car much more attractive. If Maruti Suzuki adds these features to the Fronx in India, it will make the car much stronger against its rivals. This move would also fit with what car companies are doing worldwide: making cars safer and smarter. It could even set a new standard for small SUVs in India. This also shows that Suzuki is smart about changing its cars to fit what different markets need, making sure the Fronx stays a good choice for buyers.
