KTM 390 Adventure X Discontinued, Adventure Plus to Launch Soon
KTM ends 390 Adventure X bookings as the tech-loaded 390 Adventure Plus nears launch in India.
A new report says that KTM is getting ready to update its 390 Adventure lineup in India. The 390 Adventure X, which came out earlier this year, is set to be discontinued. Instead, KTM plans to release a new model called the 390 Adventure Plus. This new version is expected to come with more features, making it more appealing to riders.
KTM India recently launched the latest version of the 390 Adventure and the 390 Adventure X back in February 2025. Just a few months later, it looks like they're changing their strategy for this popular bike series. Switching from the 'X' model to the 'Plus' model seems to show that they want to provide more value and tech for buyers.
The Shift: From X to Plus
Reports suggest that KTM has already stopped taking orders for the 390 Adventure X across India, even before they've officially announced the new 390 Adventure Plus. The 390 Adventure X is still listed on KTM India’s website for a price of Rs 2.91 lakh (ex-showroom), so it seems like there's a transition happening as the company preps for the new model.
As for the 390 Adventure Plus, it will get some nice electronic upgrades. It's expected to include an IMU-based electronics package from the standard 390 Adventure. This means features like switchable cornering ABS and traction control will be part of the deal. Plus, it will have cruise control, which is a great addition for longer rides.
Mechanicals: What Stays the Same
Mechanically, the 390 Adventure Plus will be pretty similar to the outgoing Adventure X, meaning the engine and chassis will remain the same. However, it looks like the suspension setup won’t change much. The KTM 390 Adventure Plus is expected to keep the standard suspension setup that’s already in place. The braking system will also stay the same, with the bike using 19-inch front and 17-inch rear alloy wheels. While it’ll keep the road-focused traits of its predecessor, it will still be able to handle off-road riding, offering a good mix for different terrains.
Price and Availability
With these new features, the KTM 390 Adventure Plus will likely come with a higher price than the old Adventure X. While we don’t have an exact price yet, the increase should reflect the added technology. According to the report, we can expect to see the new model hit the market in India in just a few weeks, showing that KTM is eager to get this upgraded bike out there quickly to stay competitive in the adventure motorcycle market.
Analysis
The news about the KTM 390 Adventure Plus shows that KTM is looking to boost its mid-range adventure offerings. With features like IMU-based electronics, cornering ABS, and cruise control, this Plus model should create a better riding experience and feel more premium. While the unchanged suspension might not please everyone, the overall setup still has a good balance for both road and off-road rides. Even with the expected price bump, this upgrade should help KTM compete better against other brands. The quick switch from the Adventure X suggests KTM is adapting to what riders want and aims to provide a more feature-rich choice for adventure lovers.
