Instagram head Adam Mosseri and the platform's official @creators account recently highlighted the feature on social media.

To use it, users need to create a carousel post as usual by selecting multiple photos or videos. While editing the post, they can tap the caption field and enable the new "Multiple Captions" option. This allows a unique caption to be added to each slide before publishing and it has already started rolling out and is currently available to users in India.

The update changes how captions appear inside carousel posts. Instead of showing a single caption for the entire post, Instagram can now display captions linked to the specific slide being viewed.

This gives creators a more flexible way to explain photos and videos without placing all the information in one long caption.

Instagram says the feature is designed to help users present content more clearly and make carousel posts easier to follow.
