Galaxy S25 One UI 8.5 Update Gets New Beta as Stable Release Nears
Galaxy S25 One UI 8.5 Update Still in Testing as New Beta Build Appears
Samsung has already introduced its new Galaxy S26 series, which will go on sale from March 11. Even after this new launch, Samsung continues working on software updates for the previous flagship lineup. The Galaxy S25 series is still receiving improvements through the One UI 8.5 beta program, showing that the company has not yet finished testing the update. A new development now suggests that Galaxy S25 users may need to wait a little longer before the final stable version arrives.
New One UI 8.5 Beta Build Spotted for Galaxy S25
A well known Samsung tipster, Tarun Vats, recently noticed a fresh One UI 8.5 beta build on Samsung’s internal testing servers. The new firmware version ending with U8ZZB9 indicates that Samsung is preparing another beta release for the Galaxy S25 lineup.
This strongly suggests that the beta program is still active and that a seventh beta update could arrive soon. Earlier, many users expected Beta 6 to be the final testing version, but the appearance of a new build shows Samsung is continuing refinement before rolling out the stable update.
What the Latest One UI 8.5 Beta Update Improves
Samsung released the sixth beta update shortly after Beta 5, which arrived only a week earlier. The latest beta carries build number ZZAO and comes as a download of around 568MB. It also includes the February 5, 2026 security patch, improving overall device protection.
This update mainly focuses on fixing bugs and improving daily performance. Samsung has worked on several system areas including:
- Bixby performance improvements
- Gallery fixes including sketch conversion issue
- Better stability for Now Bar and Now Brief features
- Fixes for camera setting crashes
- Lock screen style adjustment problems
- Improved display settings and Modes and Routines
Samsung has also refined notification card animations, which makes scrolling and multitasking feel smoother during regular use.
Galaxy S26 Launch Does Not Stop S25 Updates
At the recent Galaxy Unpacked event in San Francisco, Samsung launched the Galaxy S26, Galaxy S26+, and Galaxy S26 Ultra running One UI 8.5 based on Android 16 right out of the box.
At the same time, Samsung continues testing the same software on Galaxy S25, S25+, and S25 Ultra devices. This shows Samsung’s current strategy of bringing new software features to older flagship phones even after launching newer models.
When Will the Stable Galaxy S25 One UI 8.5 Update Arrive
Samsung has not officially confirmed the release date for the stable One UI 8.5 update yet. However, the discovery of another beta build clearly means testing is still ongoing.
Usually, Samsung releases the stable version soon after final beta testing ends. Since the Galaxy S26 series is already ready for sale, many experts expect the stable Galaxy S25 One UI 8.5 update to arrive in the coming weeks once remaining issues are resolved.
Users enrolled in the beta program should continue checking for new updates as another beta rollout may happen before the public release.
What Galaxy S25 Users Should Expect
The One UI 8.5 update focuses more on refinement rather than major visual changes. Samsung appears to be improving system stability, animation smoothness, and everyday usability instead of adding experimental features.
For Galaxy S25 owners, this means better performance, fewer crashes, smoother notifications, and improved system responsiveness once the final update becomes available.
