New Honda CB125 Hornet and Shine 100 DX Launched with Smart and Efficient Features
Honda has introduced two new motorcycles in India—the CB125 Hornet and the Shine 100 DX. Priced at ₹1.12 lakh and ₹74,959 respectively (ex-showroom, Gurugram), these bikes aim to serve different groups of riders. The CB125 Hornet targets young urban buyers looking for style and smart technology, while the Shine 100 DX focuses on budget-conscious commuters who need everyday reliability.
CB125 Hornet: Sporty Looks with Smart Features
The CB125 Hornet brings a premium streetfighter design with a muscular tank, sharp bodywork, and a compact LED headlamp. It also features an all-LED lighting system, golden upside-down front forks, and a rear monoshock with preload adjustment, making it one of the most advanced bikes in the 125cc class.
Power comes from a 123.94cc, fuel-injected, single-cylinder engine that meets the latest OBD2B norms. It produces 8.2kW at 7500rpm and 11.2Nm at 6000rpm, paired with a 5-speed gearbox. The bike claims a best-in-class 0 to 60 kmph time of 5.4 seconds, giving riders both speed and everyday comfort.
Digital Console and Connectivity
The Hornet features a 4.2-inch TFT display with Bluetooth connectivity, offering turn-by-turn navigation, music control, and call and message alerts via the Honda RoadSync app. It also includes a USB Type-C charging port, a side-stand engine inhibitor, and a 240mm front disc brake with single-channel ABS. Buyers can choose from four colors, giving them style options to match the bike’s high-tech appeal.
Shine 100 DX: Reliable and Comfortable for Daily Commutes
The Honda Shine 100 DX is designed for those who want dependable performance at a low cost. It runs on a 98.98cc engine with eSP (Enhanced Smart Power) technology that improves mileage and reduces friction. The engine produces 5.43kW at 7500rpm and 8.04Nm at 5000rpm, delivered through a 4-speed gearbox.
The Shine 100 DX comes with telescopic front forks, adjustable rear shock absorbers, and 17-inch tubeless tyres. It’s built for comfort with a long, cushioned seat, making daily rides easier on the body.
Upgraded Instrument Panel and Safety Features
The Shine 100 DX now features a digital LCD cluster that shows real-time mileage, distance to empty, and service alerts. For braking, it uses a combined braking system (CBS). Design updates include chrome highlights and new body graphics that give it a fresher look while keeping the price affordable.
Deliveries and Bookings
Both motorcycles will begin deliveries in mid-August 2025. Bookings are open on Honda’s official website and at authorized dealers across India.
Expert Insights: Honda Targets Both Tech-Savvy and Budget Buyers
With this dual launch, Honda shows it understands India’s changing motorcycle market. The CB125 Hornet packs premium design and smart tech into the 125cc space, which will appeal to younger buyers. Features like the TFT display, golden USD forks, and connected riding experience are typically seen in higher segments.
The Shine 100 DX, on the other hand, keeps things simple but effective. Honda updates this daily commuter with digital features while keeping it affordable. This smart mix of innovation and value ensures Honda stays relevant across income groups and age brackets.
By offering a performance-oriented bike and a budget commuter together, Honda strengthens its presence across segments. It also challenges competitors to match its level of tech and pricing, especially in the growing entry-level and premium commuter categories.
