VinFast VF 6 and VF 7 Pre-Bookings Start Tomorrow in India

Vietnamese EV maker VinFast begins prebooking's from tomorrow in India for VF 6 and VF 7 SUVs

VinFast, the Vietnamese electric vehicle (EV) maker, is quickly building its presence in India. The company has teamed up with 13 dealer groups to open 32 showrooms in 27 cities. This plan covers big cities and new markets that are friendly to EVs. VinFast also plans to add three more showrooms by the end of 2025, aiming for a total of 35 dealerships.

Pre-Bookings Begin Soon

This expansion comes just before July 15, when VinFast will start taking pre-bookings for its first locally made models, the VF 6 and VF 7. Before this, VinFast took its electric SUVs on a tour across 11 cities in India. They first showed these cars at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025 in New Delhi.

VinFast has also been testing its cars on public roads in India. This is happening before their official launch, which will be during the upcoming festive season. The VF 7 is the larger of the two models. It has a sleek, coupe-like roof, a full-width LED tail light bar, door handles that sit flush with the body, and 19-inch alloy wheels. It measures 4,545 mm long, 1,890 mm wide, and 1,636 mm tall.

Manufacturing and Pricing

VinFast has set up a factory in Tuticorin, Tamil Nadu, India. The VF 7 will likely come with two different motor options. The front-wheel-drive version might cost around Rs 25 lakh (ex-showroom). The version with two motors and all-wheel-drive could cost closer to Rs 30 lakh.

VinFast VF 7 Features and Range

The VinFast VF 7 has a 75.3 kWh battery. This battery gives it 201 horsepower and 309 Nm of torque. The company says it can travel 451 km on one charge, based on the WLTP test. A more powerful ‘Plus’ version makes 348 horsepower and 499 Nm of torque, with a certified range of 431 km. The VF 7 also includes advanced features like Level 2 ADAS (Advanced Driver-Assistance Systems), a panoramic glass roof, and a large touchscreen.

VinFast VF 6 Details

The VF 6 will have a 59.6 kWh battery. This battery works with a single electric motor that produces 204 horsepower and 310 Nm of torque. The SUV can go from zero to 100 kmph in 8.89 seconds. It is expected to offer a WLTP-certified range of up to 480 km.

Analysis

VinFast’s quick entry into the Indian market shows its strong commitment to electric mobility in the country. By setting up a manufacturing base in Tamil Nadu and planning a wide network of showrooms, VinFast aims to become a key player in India’s growing EV market. Offering two different models, the VF 6 and VF 7, with varying battery and drivetrain options, allows VinFast to target different customer needs and price points. The focus on local assembly will also help the company manage costs and potentially offer more competitive prices. As pre-bookings open, VinFast is taking a significant step towards establishing itself as a new and important electric vehicle brand in India, adding more choices for Indian consumers looking for modern EVs.
