Hero Vida VX2 Electric Scooter Launched With BaaS Starting at Rs 0.96 km

Hero Vida launched VX2 Go & Plus scooters in India with BaaS at ₹0.96/km, removable battery, and smart features like Alexa, TFT screen & more.

Hero MotoCorp, through its electric vehicle brand called Vida, has just launched its new VX2 electric scooter in India. This new scooter comes in two different versions: the VX2 Go and the VX2 Plus. These models are made to appeal to many different kinds of buyers. People can either buy the scooters completely, or they can choose a special plan called Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS). This BaaS plan lets them pay for using the battery based on how much they ride, and it starts at a very low price of just 0.96 rupees for every kilometer. The VX2 Go, when you get it with the BaaS plan, starts at 59,490 rupees. The VX2 Plus, also with the BaaS plan, begins at 64,990 rupees. These are the prices you would see at the showroom.

If someone wants to own their scooter completely, without the BaaS plan, the VX2 Go will cost them 99,490 rupees. The VX2 Plus, for full ownership, is priced at 109,990 rupees. Both types of scooters have batteries that you can take out. The VX2 Go has a 2.2 kWh battery, which is smaller, and the VX2 Plus has a bigger 3.4 kWh battery. These batteries let the scooters go a certain distance on one charge, and this distance has been officially tested. The Go model can travel 92 kilometers, and the Plus model can go 142 kilometers. If you need to charge the battery quickly, you can get it to 80 percent full in just one hour. The scooters also have three different ways to charge, which makes it easy to plug them in at home or when you are out.

The scooter’s overall look still has that familiar Vida style, but now you can pick from seven different colors. The seat is wide enough for two grown-ups to sit comfortably. It also has 12-inch wheels, which help the scooter feel more steady and smooth when you ride it on different kinds of roads. The VX2 Go model also has a storage space under the seat that is 33.2 liters big, but only when you take the battery out. This space is actually big enough to fit a full-face helmet.

When we talk about technology, both scooter models come with some pretty smart features. These include turn-by-turn navigation, a system that can stop the scooter from being stolen from far away, and real-time information about how the scooter is doing. The basic VX2 Go model has a simple 4.3-inch LCD screen. But the fancier VX2 Plus model has a 4.3-inch TFT touchscreen that shows more details. Both screens can connect to your smartphone and can even get updates wirelessly, meaning they can get better without you needing to take them to a service center. For safety, these scooters have an Emergency Stop Signal, a system called Fall Safe that helps if the scooter tips over, and alerts if someone tries to tow or steal it. You can also connect the scooter to Alexa, and it has a feature called AutoHold, which is super helpful when you are on a hill. If you are someone who uses the BaaS plan, you get free battery replacements if your battery’s health drops below 70 percent. You also get to use Vida’s big network of fast-charging stations all over the country, which currently has over 3,600 places to charge.

What This Means for the Market

Hero Vida’s decision to launch the VX2 range shows they really understand what people buying electric scooters in India are looking for. By giving choices like buying the scooter outright or using the Battery-as-a-Service plan, they are making electric vehicles easier for many different types of customers to get. The fact that the batteries can be taken out and there are many ways to charge them makes using these scooters every day much simpler. This move helps Hero compete strongly in the growing electric vehicle market. It also supports the idea of having cleaner ways to get around in India. The company’s big service network and warranty plans will probably help people trust them more, which is very important for doing well in this fast-changing industry for a long time.
