Maruti Suzuki had a busy month in May 2025, selling a total of 1,80,077 vehicles. This number includes cars sold in India, vehicles sent to other countries (exports), and cars supplied to Toyota.
Sales within India
Looking just at India, Maruti Suzuki sent 1,38,690 vehicles to its dealers. Most of these were passenger cars -1,35,962 to be exact.
- Small Cars: Popular small cars like the Alto, S-Presso, Baleno, Swift, Dzire, Celerio, WagonR, and Ignis made up a big chunk of sales, with 68,278 cars sold.
- Midsize Car: The Ciaz sedan added 458 units.
- Utility Vehicles (SUVs and MUVs): Models like the Grand Vitara, Fronx, Brezza, Ertiga, XL6, Jimny, and Invicto were also popular, selling 54,899 units. This was slightly more than the 54,204 sold in May last year.
- Vans: The Eeco van sold 12,327 units, and the Super Carry light commercial van sold 2,728 units.
Sales to Toyota and Exports
Maruti Suzuki also supplied 10,168 vehicles to Toyota in May 2025, which was close to the number supplied in May 2024.
Exports were very strong this May. Maruti Suzuki sent 31,219 vehicles to other countries, much more than the 17,367 vehicles exported in May 2024.
Overall Performance: May 2025 vs May 2024
Adding everything up (India sales + exports), Maruti Suzuki sold more vehicles in May 2025 (1,80,077 units) compared to May 2024 (1,74,551 units).
Sales So Far This Financial Year - April-May 2025
For the first two months of the financial year (April and May 2025), Maruti Suzuki has sold a total of 3,59,868 vehicles. This is higher than the 3,42,640 vehicles sold during the same time last year.
- India Sales (Apr-May): 2,80,743 units (slightly lower than last year).
- Exports (Apr-May): 59,130 units (much higher than last year).
- Sales to Toyota (Apr-May): 19,995 units (higher than last year).
What's Next?
Maruti Suzuki is also getting ready to launch its new electric SUV, the e Vitara, later this year around the festive season. It's expected to offer a driving range of over 500 km.
