Hero Vida VX2 Details Out: Variants, Battery Options, and Color Choices
Hero Vida VX2 Electric Scooter Launching July 1 - Details revealed about Variants, Battery Options, and Color Choices
Hero MotoCorp is all set to launch its new electric scooter, the Vida VX2, in India on July 1, 2025. We recently got a glimpse of it at a Hero dealership, where it was showcasing a vibrant Matt Yellow color. There are some fresh updates on the various options, battery specs, and available colors for this scooter. It's been said that the Vida VX2 might come with a battery-as-a-service subscription, which should help keep costs down. It's expected to be the most affordable electric scooter from Hero, priced lower than the current Vida V2.
A Range of Colors and Versions
The Vida VX2 will be available in seven different colors: Yellow, Orange, Black, White, Red, Blue, and Grey. We've already seen three of these—White, Red, and Blue—through some teaser videos. Unlike the Vida V2, which has dual-tone options, the VX2 will stick to single-tone colors for a simpler look.
Initially, it seemed like the Vida VX2 might come in three versions: Lite, Plus, and Pro. But a recent report says it will actually be offered in just two versions: Go and Plus. Each version will come with a different battery pack to meet various needs and budgets.
Battery Life and Performance
The base Go model will have a 2.2 kWh removable battery. If you need more power and longer range, the Plus model will come with two swappable 3.4 kWh batteries. While exact range numbers haven't been shared yet, it's likely the Go will provide at least 100 kilometers per charge, and there’s hope that a possible VX2 Pro version could go over 150 kilometers. This gives riders different options based on their commuting needs.
Features That Matter
Since the Vida VX2 is being marketed as a budget-friendly option, it won't have some of the high-end features found in the Vida V2. For example, the VX2 will use a physical key for starting and will sport a smaller TFT screen and single-seat design. The Vida V2, on the other hand, has a digital key, a larger touchscreen, and a split seat. The controls on the VX2 will also be more basic, keeping in line with its cost-focused approach.
Pricing and Competition
The Vida VX2 is expected to be very budget-friendly, with an estimated starting price between INR 65,000-70,000 (ex-showroom) when paired with the BaaS subscription. This makes it much cheaper than the Vida V2, which starts at INR 96,000 (ex-showroom). With this pricing strategy, the VX2 will directly compete with other electric scooters like the Ola S1 Air, Bajaj Chetak 3001, and the upcoming TVS Orbiter. Its affordable price and practical features could make it a great choice for city riders looking for a reliable electric scooter.
Analysis
It seems that the hero Vida VX2 is well deployed to attract buyers in the entry level electric scooter segment in India. By keeping the price low through the BAAS model and focusing on the necessary features, the hero is expected to switch more people on electric vehicles. Having two battery options, go and plus allows to adjust the needs and budgets of different range. Although it is leaving some premium characteristics of V2, its solid basic functionality and competitive pricing can make it an attractive option for daily urban traffic. The success of the VX2 will depend on how well its BAAS model works and if it meets the needs of its expected audience in this crowded market.
