Motorola Starts Android 17 Beta Update: Moto Edge and Moto G Phones

Motorola expands Android 17 beta program to more Moto Edge and Moto G devices with new features and early testing access.

Motorola has started giving the Android 17 beta update to more phones. This means some Motorola users can try the new Android version early before the final update comes for everyone. The company uses this testing program to check how the software works in real life and fix problems before the full release.

Which Motorola Phones Can Get Android 17 Beta

Motorola has added many popular phones to this beta program. These include the Moto Edge 70, Moto Edge 60, Moto Edge 60 Fusion, and Moto G86.

The update is opening slowly in many regions like India, the United States, Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Brazil, and parts of Latin America.

For example, Moto Edge 70 users in the United States can now apply for testing. In India, people using the Moto G57 Power can also join the program. Users in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa with Moto G57 or Moto G57 Power devices are included too. In Brazil, Motorola has enabled beta testing for Edge 70, Edge 60, and Edge 60 Fusion models. This shows Motorola wants more users across different countries to test new Android features early.

What Changes Come with Android 17

Android 17 mainly improves how the phone feels during daily use. The Material You design system now gives more control over colors and themes so users can make the phone look the way they like.

Notifications are also improved so they use less battery while still showing important alerts on time. A new desktop mode makes it easier to connect the phone to a bigger screen and use it like a computer when needed.

Privacy settings are clearer now which helps users understand what apps can access. Android 17 also adds smart AI tools that learn how you use your phone and help save battery or suggest useful actions during the day.

How You Can Try the Beta Update

If you want to test Android 17 early you need to register through Motorola’s official community page for your region. After you submit your phone details Motorola selects users step by step.

If selected you will receive an email with download instructions. Since this is a testing version some bugs or small issues may still appear during normal use.

For Motorola Users

Motorola has been improving its update support in recent years.  It is also good to see mid range phones like the Moto G series getting early access because users do not always need expensive flagship phones to enjoy new Android features. For everyday users this update means better performance longer software support and a smoother phone experience in the future.
