Triumph Speed 400 Launched in Baja Orange at ₹2.05 Lakh in India
Triumph's Speed 400 now comes in Baja Orange with style tweaks. Powered by a 398cc engine, it's ideal for city and twisty roads.
Triumph Motorcycles has rolled out a new color for its Speed 400 in India. This bike, now in a striking Baja Orange, costs Rs 2.05 lakh (ex-showroom). You might have seen this bright orange on bigger Triumph bikes before, like the Scrambler 1200 XE or the Street Triple 765 R. Other than this new paint, the bike itself hasn't changed.
The Speed 400 still uses its 398 cc single-cylinder engine. This engine is liquid-cooled. It makes 31 PS of power at 7,000 rpm. The engine also gives 36 Nm of twisting force at 5,000 rpm. It's built to respond well at lower speeds, especially between 3,500 and 5,500 rpm. This makes the bike easy to ride in city traffic and fun on twisty roads.
For safety, the Speed 400 has dual-channel ABS, which helps with braking. It also comes with 43 mm upside-down front forks. These forks improve how the bike handles and how smooth the ride feels. A slipper clutch system is also part of the bike, making gear changes smoother.
New Looks and Sales Success
The Baja Orange Speed 400 isn't just about a new color. It also has a brushed steel exhaust. The frame paint is different, and there's a special 3D Speed 400 badge. The tires even have unique stripes. These small details give the classic bike a fresh, modern look.
This new color comes at a good time for Triumph. Their TR-series bikes are selling very well. Since the start of this financial year, sales of the Speed 400 have doubled. This strong showing has helped all of Triumph's 400 cc bikes, including the Speed and Scrambler models, sell 30 percent more than last year. Because of these sales, the Triumph 400s are now second in the classic motorcycle market.
More Colors and Other Bikes
Besides the new Baja Orange, the 2025 Triumph Speed 400 also comes in other colors. These include Lava Red with White, Caspian Blue with White, and Phantom Black. It's worth noting that these updated Speed 400 models, with their new paint and small changes, were first shown in India earlier this year.
Just last month, Triumph also launched the Scrambler 400 XC. This model starts at Rs. 2.94 lakh (ex-showroom). The Scrambler 400 XC has some updates compared to the regular Scrambler 400X. It has 19-inch front and 17-inch rear wheels with spokes. These wheels have tubeless tires that work well on and off the road. These features make it better for off-road adventures.
What This Means
The updated Triumph Speed 400, with its new Baja Orange color and continued strong sales, shows Triumph is serious about the Indian market. The bike offers a mix of classic style, modern features, and a good engine. Its growing sales show many riders like it because it's useful and looks good. As Triumph adds more 400 cc bikes, it wants to get an even stronger hold in the busy Indian motorcycle market.
