Skoda-VW May 2025 Sales: Kylaq Shines, Others Struggle

Skoda Kylaq tops May 2025 sales with 4,949 units, while Kushaq, Slavia & Virtus struggle. See full model-wise Skoda-VW car sales performance.

The Skoda-VW model-wise sales May 2025 numbers just came out. Kylaq is doing really well, but other cars aren't selling much. Let's see how each car did last month.

Kylaq Is the Big Winner

The Kylaq SUV sold 4,949 cars in May 2025. It's the top seller for Skoda by far. This small SUV hit the market a few months back and people really like it. It's got good looks, lots of features, and doesn't cost too much. Cars like Hyundai Venue and Kia Sonet now have to worry about it.

Kylaq has changed everything for Skoda in India. Before this car came along, Skoda wasn't doing so well here. Now, this one car makes up more than 70% of all the Skoda cars sold in India. That shows how much people like it!

How Are Slavia and Virtus Doing?

The Slavia sedan sold 937 cars in May 2025. That's about 10% less than April. Not many people are buying sedans these days, but Slavia is still hanging in there.

The Virtus from Volkswagen sold about the same. These two cars are like twins under the skin but look different on the outside. They go up against Honda City and Hyundai Verna, which sell more cars.

The big problem is that most buyers now want SUVs, not sedans. Even though Slavia and Virtus are good cars with nice engines and features, they're having a hard time getting buyers interested.

Kushaq Is Having a Tough Time

The Kushaq SUV is really struggling. It only sold 644 cars in May 2025. That's way down from last year. When it first came out, it was Skoda's main car in India. But now with Kylaq getting all the attention, people seem to have forgotten about Kushaq.

Why is this happening? Well, Kushaq costs more than Kylaq. Also, it's been around longer and now has to fight with newer SUVs like Maruti Grand Vitara and Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder. Skoda might need to give it a makeover or drop the price to get people interested again.

What Does This Mean for Skoda-VW?

Skoda sold 6,738 cars total in May 2025. That's better than last year, but it's almost all because of Kylaq. Without this one car, things would look pretty bad.

Volkswagen has the same problems. Their Taigun SUV (which is a lot like Kushaq) and Virtus sedan aren't selling as well as they hoped. They need cheaper cars if they want to grow in India.

The good news is that Kylaq shows that Skoda can make cars that Indian buyers want. If they can do the same with their other cars, both Skoda and VW might do much better soon.
