Maruti Suzuki e Vitara: First Electric SUV Nears Launch, Spotted in Final Form
The Maruti Suzuki e Vitara EV is almost ready for launch, offering two battery options, fast charging, and up to 500 km range.
Maruti Suzuki is getting very close to launching its first all-electric SUV, the Maruti Suzuki e Vitara. Recent pictures show the car completely uncovered, looking ready for production. It was seen in a black color, hinting that its official launch is just around the corner. Even with some challenges in getting parts, Maruti Suzuki is sticking to its plan to bring this electric SUV to the market soon.
Production Plans and Launch Details
Reports say that making the Maruti Suzuki e Vitara has faced some small problems. This is because it has been hard to get certain rare materials needed for electric car parts, like the magnets in the motors. These supply issues have made the company change its original production plans a bit. However, Maruti Suzuki has not changed the launch date for the e Vitara. The electric SUV is still set to come out around September 2025.
Once launched, the Maruti Suzuki e Vitara will be sold through Maruti Suzuki’s Nexa dealerships. To reach its goal of making 67,000 units each year, the company plans to greatly increase production between October 2025 and March 2026.
Battery Options and Driving Range
New pictures of the Maruti Suzuki e Vitara show it in its final look, without any covers. This means it is very close to being ready for sale. Buyers will get to choose between two battery sizes. There will be a 48.8 kWh battery pack and a larger 61.1 kWh option. The bigger battery is expected to give the car a certified driving range of more than 500 kilometers on one full charge. This range is important for electric car buyers, as it helps ease worries about running out of power on longer trips.

The Maruti Suzuki e Vitara will come in ten different colors. These include Arctic White, Opulent Red, Splendid Silver, Grandeur Grey, Land Breeze Green, Bluish Black, and Nexa Blue. There will also be combinations like Splendid Silver with a Bluish Black roof, Opulent Red with a Bluish Black roof, and Land Breeze Green with a Bluish Black roof. While some versions of the e Vitara sold in other countries will have all-wheel-drive, the model for India is expected to only have front-wheel-drive.
Trims, Manufacturing, and Charging
The Maruti Suzuki e Vitara will be available in three different versions: Delta, Zeta, and Alpha. The car will be made at Suzuki Motor Corporation’s plant in Gujarat, India. From there, it will be sent to both local buyers and other countries. The e Vitara will come with DC fast charging as a standard feature. This means it can charge its battery from empty to 80 percent in about 50 minutes, which is very convenient for quick top-ups.
Competition and Features
The Maruti Suzuki e Vitara will compete with other electric SUVs in India. These include the Hyundai Creta Electric, Tata Harrier EV, and Mahindra XEV 9e and BE 6, all of which have recently been shown in India. The e Vitara will come with many features. These include seven airbags for safety, Level 2 ADAS (Advanced Driver-Assistance Systems), a panoramic sunroof, a large touchscreen for entertainment, and a fully digital display for the driver.
