Bajaj Chetak 3001 Launched at ₹99,990 with 127km Range and Smart Features
Bajaj Chetak 3001 Launched: A Simple, Strong Electric Scooter for Daily Use
Bajaj Auto has launched a new electric scooter in India – the Chetak 3001. This new model is the most affordable in the Chetak series. It is made for daily city use and gives people a new option to travel comfortably.
Built for Everyday Riding
The Chetak 3001 is built on the same base as the Chetak 3501 and 3502 models. But this version is made to be more practical. It has a smaller, compact body which is great for city traffic and narrow roads.
Bajaj has placed the battery under the floorboard (below your feet). This 3.0 kWh battery position makes the scooter more stable and easier to handle. It also gives extra space in the boot. Now, there’s 35 liters of storage its enough for bags, groceries, or a helmet. This is a big plus for daily users.
Good Range and Fast Charging
Range is very important for electric scooter users. The Chetak 3001 gives a certified range of 127 km on a full charge. That’s enough for daily rides or even longer trips.
It comes with a 750W charger. This can charge the battery up to 80% in just 3 hours and 50 minutes. So, you can plug it in at home and get back on the road quickly.
Smart Features for Modern Riders
The scooter offers digital features through something called the TecPac (an upgrade pack). These include:
- Music and call controls
- Auto turn signal cut-off
- Reverse alert to help in parking
- Hill-hold to stop rolling back on slopes
- “Guide me home” lights for better visibility at night
These features make riding easier and safer.
Strong Metal Body and Weather Protection
Like other Chetak models, the 3001 also has a full metal body. It gives the scooter a strong and premium feel, which many people prefer over plastic.
It also has an IP67 rating, which means it can handle dust, water splashes, and even heavy rain. This makes it a good choice for all weather conditions.
Price and Availability
The Chetak 3001 is available at showrooms, and its ex-showroom price in Gurugram is Rs. 99,990. This makes it affordable while still offering useful features.
Bajaj said the scooter will be sold through Amazon, and deliveries will begin in a few weeks.
Eric Vas, President of Bajaj’s Urbanite division, said the Chetak 3001 gives riders the performance and range they need. He believes this scooter will replace petrol scooters. He called it “bigger, stronger, and lifeproof” at a very good price.
Where Chetak 3001 Stands in the Market
The electric scooter market is growing fast. The Chetak 3001 enters at a price that many people can afford. Its 127 km range and fast charging solve big worries riders have about EVs like running out of charge.
By moving the battery under the floorboard, Bajaj improved how the scooter handles and gave more storage space. The metal body also makes it stronger than most plastic-bodied scooters.
With the 3001, Bajaj wants to reach more people. The scooter gives the most-needed features at a low cost, which can attract buyers who are new to electric scooters. And since Bajaj’s Chetak range has already become the top-selling EV scooter brand in India (Jan–Mar last year), this model is likely to perform well too.
Author’s View: A Smart Step in EV Mobility
Bajaj is known for building reliable vehicles, and this scooter keeps that reputation.
Its focus on affordability, range, and simple features helps more people switch to electric. It removes many of the doubts people have about EVs.
Electric vehicles are the future, and in India, scooters play a big role. The Chetak 3001 fits well into this change. With its price, design, and performance, it’s a strong choice for everyday riders. I believe it will do well in the market and push electric two-wheelers forward in India.
